How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief?
Product 1
Radio show
Tea Time With Rosa will be a podcast-style radio show aimed at a 16-20 female aspirational audience. I decided to narrow my target audience down to teenagers, as I feel teenagers will be more attracted to the comical and light-hearted tone, and a female audience as they will be more attracted to the pop culture gossip. The show will be produced by an independent media production company therefore my radio show will attempt to appeal to a large mainstream audience as I want to make my show as profitable as possible. For mass appeal, this radio show will reflect the ideologies of mainstream youth culture, including left-leaning political ideology for example including guests that vocally identify with the LGBTQ+ community. Tea Time With Rosa will have a conversational feel aligning with the codes and conventions of celebrity interview radio programmes which will create an undemanding tone, that appeals to an easily distracted target audience. My opening sequence will include an ident for the local commercial radio called Radio Waves to create a strong sense of brand identity. Conventionally commercial radio shows include adverts but my brief did not demand me to include this. However if I made the whole show I would include local adverts. Radio shows targeting teenagers are rare so many of the conventions I have discovered through research will be modified to remain relevant. For example, I researched celebrity podcast shows, as that is the medium my young target audience are used to. The young aspirational host will also make references to streaming services such as Spotify and Apple music to satisfy the want to listen on demand and have listening freedom. My guest will be famous but not A -list as my show is for a local radio

Website-
The same light-hearted tone will be sustained through a strong sense of branding on the shows website. On the home page viewers will be able to navigate shows and interviews of varying genre, all relevant to the local area. Conventionally, it will also include medium close ups of hosts, all young adult models to align with the young aspirational target audience. The convergent link on the home page will attract viewers to Tea Time With Rosa website page. The subtle blue colour scheme will link to Radio wave's local sea theme. It will be a scrolling website to replicate social media and Instagram feeds. The company’s social media accounts will be advertised throughout and opportunities for interaction and participation will be available, satisfying the expectations of modern-day media consumers. There will be a link to the latest episode as its very conventional for a radio website. My website will be very colourful which is not conventional however the use of bright colours will attract a mainstream female audience and satisfy the aesthetic wants of the younger audience. The audio-visual element of this website will be an aesthetic advert for the show appealing to teenage girls- which is reinforced by the polaroid scrap book style Q & A. My website will also include adverts appealing to a youthful audience as it is very conventional for a commercial radio website.
How do you intend to link your media products to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the digitally convergent nature of your media production?
To encourage my listeners, my website will include a comment box so they can submit their own lyrics for the game "spill the tea". My show and website will also refer and link to the shows social media accounts which demonstrates the company's dedication to stay relevant to their young target audience. The website will link to streaming services providing an alternative way to listen to the show apart from on the radio and website itself, increasing its listeners and revenue. To keep to the theme of social media and technology, the Tea Time with Rosa page will include an image of a mobile phone, which highlights the companies understanding of their audiences desired way of consuming media.
